All of these appointees are at the discretion of the Governor and, together with the Commissioner and the Audit Committee of the Office of Mechanical Inspection, form a committee on boiler, pressure vessel and cooling regulations. The committee shall meet at the call of the member of the Commission or his delegate chairing the meeting and, after a public hearing following the publication of the notice of such consultation, shall adopt rules and regulations for the safe and orderly construction, installation and use of steam boilers, pressure vessels and refrigeration systems subject to the provisions of section 2. Chapter 7 of this Title. (c) No person shall complete or purchase new or used boilers or pressure receptacles which do not conform to the applicable ASME Code, except as provided in N.J.A.C. 12:90-5.3 to 5.10. The applicable ASME code is indicated for these transactions. (c) The Boiler and Pressure Vessel Compliance Office may consider an applicant`s experience at the same level for the classification or classification of another jurisdiction.

The application must be accompanied by documents related to the licensing and admission requirements of the other jurisdiction. This Subchapter applies to administrative tasks that the owner or user of boilers, pressure vessels or refrigeration systems is required to perform under this Chapter, including, but not limited to, model steam boilers. “Weld repair” means the work necessary to restore a boiler or pressure vessel to a condition that allows safe operation under design conditions. If a repair changes the temperature or nominal pressure, the reassessment requirements must be met. A repair may consist of the addition or replacement of pressurized or non-pressurized parts that do not change the rated capacity of the boiler or pressure vessel.

The provisions of this section shall be administered by the Commissioner through the Bureau de inspection mécanique. The entrance examinations referred to in this Article shall be conducted by the selection board or by a member of that committee.
